This Will Have To Do Again

I have still yet to find 2020 Topps Series 1 (at my Target), so this small update will have to do… again.

After failing to find 2020 Topps Series 1 on release day, I churned out my previous post This Will Have To Do. I went back the following day in hopes of finding Series 1, but no luck. I decided to wait until next Monday to check Target again.

Yes, I could go buy a hobby box at the LCS that is 5 minutes away, but hobby box prices are way too high right now. I really just want a blaster and some fat packs to get a good starter set. I’ll wait a month before grabbing a hobby box when the prices come back down to earth.

In the mean time, I received a few eBay packages from Canada this weekend filled with some of my favorite buy backs; 2001 In The Game Spring/Fall Expo buy backs.

I have become quite the sucker for these cards for two reasons; They are Minnesota Wild and they are somewhat cheap.

My second envelope from Canada knocked off a needed You Crash the Game insert from my 1995-96 Upper Deck Collector’s Choice Hockey checklist. There are three dates per player making the silver and gold insert sets 90 cards each.

Finally, I also finished sorting 1,000+ commons from 1981 Topps and updated my want list. If you can fill anything, let me know.

I enjoyed pulling and playing UD’s YCTG back in the day. It was a great way to the hobby with the actual sport.

It WAS fun. I remember checking the paper to see if I had winners. Unfortunately, I don’t have any of the redemption sets still around. I must have sent in a dozen winners. I opened soo much of that stuff.
