This junk wax oddball set takes us back to 1986. The Kay Bee Toys Young Superstars set is my new favorite. Not because of the design, but for the checklist that includes two of my favorite Minnesota Twins pitchers.
Junk wax oddball sets are an awesome piece of nostalgia. I am slowly finding these oddball sets as I go through my cards again. This time, I re-discovered the 1989 K-Mart Dream Team set.
Baseball card collectors in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s will remember the small oddball sets issued by companies during the junk wax era. These sets were over produced and maintained little value, but have recently caught my attention.
This past weekend was the Fanatics Authentic Sports Spectacular show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Illinois. It was roughly a 45 minute drive from my house, but I got to spend the next five hours rummaging through 25 cent bins and drooling over old cardboard.

2017 Topps Heritage came out two days ago. After seeing the what everyone else was pulling on Twitter, I made the decision partake in this year’s Topps Heritage release. Sadly… I could not find any.
