Mail Bag Recap #15

The Corona Virus has slowed everything down. My son’s school decided to take three weeks off. My work closed all their offices and told everyone to work remote. Trading hasn’t slowed down yet…

Barry (TCDB member CoachBarry) and I swapped cards. I sent him some 2020 Topps inserts and he sent me a stack of 2020 Topps Series 1 base.

This puts my set at 74.0% complete– almost three quarters complete! Thanks, Barry. I hope we can trade again.

A Spontaneous Purchase

Greg Gagne played for the Minnesota Twins from 1983 to 1992, was on both 1987 and 1991 World Series Championship teams, and is in the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame. Yet I never had his rookie card… until now.

Dazzle Man

It took 32 years of collecting for me to start to appreciate the late 1970’s and 1980’s minor league cards. I came across a minor league card of “Dazzle Man” Dan Gladden and had to have it.

This 1984 Cramer Phoenix Giants #17 Dan Gladden card is one of my new favorites. He has about half a dozen minor league cards that are now on my radar.

A Trade With BKIM

Robert (TCDB member bkim) and I made a decent size trade. He sent a stack of 1988 Topps (with extras!), some 1992 Topps, two needed 1989 Topps errors, and two of the last three needed for my 1990 set.

These bring my 1988 master set to 93.2% complete, 1989 master set to 99.1%, and my 1990 set to 99.9% complete! Thanks, Robert!

I just received a big order from COMC which will require two blog posts in the near future. Thanks for reading.
