Welcome to my third mail bag recap. With the football season over and my David Cobb collection topping out, all my purchases have been purely baseball.
It’s the Boof!
After coming across a blog post a short while back, someone shared a Boof Bonser card they purchased. Boof Bonser brings back a lot of memories from the 2006 season. After all these years I never owned a Boof Bonser autograph. These two autographs just arrived from eBay.
More Mauer, please!
A small Joe Mauer lot from eBay contained some 2017 Topps inserts I haven’t been able to grab and a 2017 Topps Jackie Robinson Day Commemorative Patch.
Topps has been using manufactured patches for a few years now and it gets a lot of negative feedback. Personally, I would rather have a nice looking manufactured patch than a plain white jersey swatch.
Here’s to better pitching
Jose Berrios, Trevor May, and Tyler Duffey had a horrible 2016 season. I am really hoping that turns around this year. Note: Trevor May is already out for the season.
More buybacks
Here are two 2017 Topps buybacks from two of my favorite Minnesota Twins pitchers from the 1980’s; Bert Blyleven and Rick Aguilera. I cannot get enough 1980’s Twins buybacks.
