2017 Topps Heritage came out two days ago. After seeing the what everyone else was pulling on Twitter, I made the decision partake in this year’s Topps Heritage release. Sadly… I could not find any.
Since our neighborhood is on the very edge of the Chicago suburbs, the closest store selling baseball cards is Wal-Mart. However, this Wal-Mart did not have 2017 Heritage yet. I just could not go home empty handed, so I grab two loose 2016 Topps packs; 2016 Topps Series Two and 2016 Topps Heritage High Number.
2016 Topps Heritage High Number
Besides picking up a few Twins singles, I did not open any 2016 Topps Heritage last year. That makes this my first 2016 Topps Heritage… even if it is the High Number series.
The pack didn’t yield much. The highlight was a Bartolo Colon Now & Then insert looking back at his memorable home run in 2016 and a Ryan O’Rourke rookie for my Twins collection.
2016 Topps Series 2
This is another product I did not open a lot last year. It must have been the timing, because I opened a bit of 2016 Topps Series 1, but not much 2016 Topps Series 2.
I opened a retail pack of series 2 a while back and it was pretty bland. This time around I got a Matt Duffy Short Print, Celebrating 65 Years Satchel Paige, and an Elias Diaz Rainbow Foil rookie. Not bad for retail.
Hopefully next time my Wal-Mart will actually have a blaster or loose packs of Heritage baseball.
