Mail Bag Recap #2

Welcome bag to yet another Mail Bag Recap. This recap is filled with a few eBay purchases, my first trade in a long time, and some break results.

Recent eBay purchases

My eBay purchases were light the last two weeks. I came across a nice 2016 Topps Gold Label Class 3 Red /25 Jose Berrios for cheap. Here is to hoping Berrios has a better year in 2017. Also purchased is a nice cheap 1959 Topps Bob Allison RC. This is my forth Bob Allison rookie– It’s one of those cards I just keep buying when I find it for cheap.

I also purchased a small lot which include two 2010 Topps Manufactured Commemorative patches. All I really wanted was the Killebrew. The Steve Carlton path is up for grabs.

The trade

I just completed a trade with Chris from The Pedestrian Collector. This is my trade in a few years. I tossed some 1990’s hockey his way and he sent me some Minnesota Twins from 2017 Topps Heritage baseball including an awesome 1990 Topps Kent Hrbek Buyback!

Let’s break

Since I work part-time for Top Shelf Breaks, I often get into some breaks. Not being a high-end type guy, I wait until lower-end breaks go up on the site. Last week Panini released 2017 Panini Donruss Baseball, so I got into a few divisional breaks.

I bought into three divisional breaks, nabbing the National League Central twice and the National League West once. This yielded mostly Cubs cards which I will hold onto as I am starting to collect Cubs for my son since my wife is persuading him to cheer for the Cubs.

The big card for me was a 2017 Donruss Significant Signatures /5 Ozzie Smith. Yes, that is Ozzie Smith in a Padres uniform!

A bonus card

A big thank you goes out to Chris at Top Shelf Breaks for setting aside this 2016 Panini National VIP Red Mojo Prizm /15 Autograph Miguel Sano autograph for me. This shiny, reflective thing is definitely going into my collection.
